What’s Christmas pudding?
It’s a pudding with nuts, raisins and sometimes with brandy.
When do you make it?
It’s traditional to make Christmas pudding on “Stir-up Sunday”. It is the last Sunday of November.
Silver coin.
People put a silver coin in the pudding. If someone finds the coin on Christmas Day, it’s good luck.
Ingredients:
- 5 ounces of breadcrumbs
- 4 ounces of raisins and nuts
- 3 ounces of flour
- 2 apples (peeled and grated)
- 3 ounces of fat
- 5 tablespoons of milk
- 3 ounces of white sugar
- 1 egg a pinch of salt
- 1 ounce = 28,3 grams
Instructions:
Put the breadcrumbs, fat, flour and sugar into a bowl. Add the raisins, nuts, apples and salt. Don’t mix it. Beat the breadcrumbs into the milk and pour this into the bowl and stir. Put everything into a pudding basin and cover tightly with foil. Steam pudding for 4 hours.
You can decorate it with some holly.
