The heavy metal band was born in Los Angeles in 1981. They played music covers in their first concerts and one of their own songs “Hit the Lights”.
The first album “Kill 'em all”made Metallica famous. The album had seven songs. The band gave concerts only in the U.S.A, but after publishing “Ride the Lightning” (second album), they started playing in Europe as well. The third album “Master of Puppets” is one of the best metal records.
Unfortunately in 1986, Cliff Burton the bass player of Metallica died in a car accident. Metallica had to cancel their concerts that year and search for a new bassist. Jason Newsted was a fan of Metallica and came to one of their castings and the band ended up choosing him as their new bassist.
When Metallica, along with the new bassist, recorded the new album “Garage Days” and another one “…And justice for all” and albums such as “Load” and “Re-load”, they were seen as pop records and a few critics said “This isn’t the old Metallica which we loved”.
The Metallica records “Black album” and “St. Anger” were pretty good but the band released “Death magnetic” in 2008 and it was even better.
