Kraków, in English also spelled Krakow or Cracow, is one of the largest and
oldest cities in Poland. It is situated on the Vistula River in the Lesser
Poland Province. The city dates back to the 7th century. It was the capital of
Poland from 1038 to 1596. Nowadays, Krakow is a cultural and academic centre of
Poland with 800.000 inhabitants. Here is a map of the old town of Krakow drawn
by our school mate Sonia Wojas IIA and some information written by Olga Pędrys.
