Reportage from Bolechowicka Valley B02
Sonia Wojas, Kamil Król, Weronika Waga kl. IIa — Gimnazjum w Zabierzowie

At the end of summertime a group of students and their English teacher went for a short trip to the Bolechowicka Valley situated on the border of two villages (Karniowice and Bolechowice) in the Zabierzów Commune about 20 kilometres from the centre of Kraków.

We wanted to report on one of the most picturesque valleys in the Małopolska region and make a kind of an advertisement of a place that we think is really worth seeing. The Bolechowicka Valley has been a natural reserve since 1968.

We snapped the first shots at the amazing rock gate called the Bolechowicka Gate. This unusual rock formation is 30 metres high and looks charming at anytime of the year.

Then we went along the path, up and down through the gorge. One and a half kilometers long, the gorge is a place where you can also ride a bike, go jogging or simply walk your dog and listen to the relaxing sound of the small stream that runs through the gorge.

The Jurassic limestone rocks attract rock climbers who come to the valley and climb almost all year long. Continuing on the main path, you will reach the tiny waterfall hidden in the middle of the gorge.

In the Bolechowicka Valley you are surrounded by beautiful nature: trees, bushes, flowers, and birds (including woodpeckers and pheasants). If you are lucky, you will catch a glimpse of deer, foxes, squirrels or even wild boars. Don’t forget to stay quiet and calm at that time.

Visiting the Bolechowicka Valley is a must!!!
