Life of a pop star E06
Malwina Pawłowska IIIa

The life of a pop star may look very pleasant. As we all know, life is not always so nice and free of worries. Even pop stars have some trouble in their lives. In fact some of them have even more to worry about than common people.

Let’s imagine a pop star wants to go shopping. Everywhere he or she goes, a group of paparazzi follow him or her to take pictures, even in the changing rooms if possible. People stare at them and ask for autographs. The same happens if he or she wants to go on holiday or to a restaurant. Pop stars cannot enjoy their privacy in public places unless they hire a lot of security guards and rent a place only for themselves. Even these means will not stop curious journalists and crazy fans.

A pop star is very unlikely to have a boyfriend or girlfriend that is not another pop star. This is because common people are not used to the lack of privacy and constant struggle with paparazzi. Pop stars usually date famous people to create more interest around themselves. Some tabloid favourites are only famous because they are or were other well-known people’s fiancées. Some of them will never find a partner among the celebrities because they are not on top any more.

There comes a time in the life of every star when he or she has to work hard for their fame. In some cases, it is very short and in some – very long. However, it is necessary to achieve something. Some pop stars work very hard all the time, training their voices, perfecting their choreography, recording songs and working out in the gym to keep slim and fit. The life of a pop star can also be stressful. Recording a new album does not mean the work is over. Going on tour and giving concerts are very tiring and nerve-racking. All these factors may lead to nervous breakdowns, addiction to alcohol or drugs and suicide attempts.

For many people becoming a pop star is their biggest dream. They should remember that this lifestyle is not all luxury holidays, boat cruises, shopping sprees and endless parties. It is also unstable, stressful and full of hard work.
