Animal rights officer
Animal rights officers make sure that people treat animals properly. They visit homes, zoos, animal hospitals and places where animals are bought and sold. They check to make sure that the places are clean, that animals have sufficient space to climb and explore, that animals are getting proper nutrition. Sometimes they appear in court to protect the right of an animal.
Veterinarian
Vets work for zoos or/and animal hospitals. Many of them have their own private offices. Vets take an animal‘s temperature, give injections, take X-rays, etc. They also decide what kind of medicine ill animals may need. It takes 6-7 years of higher education to become a vet.
Animal control officer
Sometimes the job involves getting animals out of dangerous situations, which can be nerve-wracking. For example, it is not always easy to get a cat down from a tree. At other times, an officer must take an ill animal to hospital for treatment. These animals are often in great pain, are afraid of everything and are difficult to control.
