I think that each teenager should read the book titled " My, Dzieci Z Dworca ZOO ". It was written by Kai Hermann and Horst Rieck.
This is a real story about a teenage drug addict, who started to take drugs when she was 12 years old.
Here you can read a few words about the characters of the novel.
# Christiane Vera Felscherinow : The most important girl in the book. When she was young she lived in a small village but later she moved to West Berlin. She lived there with her family : mum , dad and her younger sister. Her dad wasn't good for them.
When Christiane is 11 years old , she and her mother move to another place. But her sister still stays in her father 's house.
Christiane went to school and there she met a girl called Kessi. She became her good friend. They started to go to the disco called " Haus der Mitte ". In this place Christiane smoked marijuana for the first time.She was only 12 .
Then she smoked every day !! In this disco the girl met lots of other addicts who later became her friends.
# Piet : the boy older than Christiane , he smoked marijuana ,too.
# Babsi : Christiana 's best friend. First , she only smoked marijuana but then she started to take heroin and she died when she was 13.
# Stella : Christiana's good friend , she started to smoke when she was 12. When she was 14, she was in prison.
When Christiane was 13 years old she started to visit the disco called " Sound" and there she met her first boyfriend:
# Atze : he was 16 and he took heroin . He overdosed heroin on purpose, but he left a letter in which he warned everyone against taking this drug.
# Detlef : Christiane's boyfriend , later they lived together.
Chistiane didn't take heroin , but one day ...
Detlef took it and about 8 days later she tried it, too. Then she took it intravenously every day. She didn't know when she became addicted to heroin.
